  	So many of our ancestors really sacrificed for their families.  My grandfather Henry actually worked most of his life as a machinist in the auto industry in Michigan, only getting to visit his family in Towanda occasionally.  They would often travel by train to meet him somewhere in Western NY for a picnic.  He really didn't live all that long after retiring back to the Towanda farm.  He did get to enjoy a few good years, I'm sure, but not to the level of today's retirement style.  I was 7 when he died of stroke in the summer of 1954.  My memories of him are few.
