Records from the Independent Church Chiswell, Portland:  1) December -Member Mary Stone, wife of Shadrach, stone quarryman was admitted.  2)Excommunication of Mary Stone, the wife of Shadrach Stone, quarryman.  Thefollowing is a copy sent by the Church to the excommunicated party.  Themembers of this Church think themselves fully justified in excommunicatingyou from this communion, in consequence of your most unaccountable neglectof a positive duty, in having refused to attend at the administration of theLords Supper for upwards of twelve months past. Though repeatedly remindedof your obligations with the most possible tenderness and the necessity ofadhering to established rule and order.  You have been dealt with accordingto the direction given by our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, Matthew Chapter18, verses 15,16and 17.  As you have taken no notice of the admonitionsgiven, nor assigned any reasons that will justify your conduct, we are underthe painful necessity of informing you that you are no longer in Communion
with us.  March 14th 1834 signed on behalf of the Church.

      Hello Diana,

Betty Motyer  (als. Frances) was buried 23.9.1760.
I found, by chance, two of the children of Joseph and Elizabeth Motyer:

      2.11.1771 Mary
28.12.1773  John  both baptised at Litton Cheney

      Regards,
      Geraldine
