• Notes

  (Medical):Puerperal Fever is a fever that lasts for more than 24 hours within the first 10 days after a woman has had a baby.  It is due to an infection, and was a devastating disease.  It affected women within the first three days after childbirth and progressed rapidly, causing acute symptoms of severe abdominal pain, fever and debility. She died at age 34, only 23 days after her son Ernest Stowe COOPER was born.
