    • During the Civil War, multiple 33rd Infantry Regiments were formed, both by the Union and Confederacy, and by various states.  John Wallace THISSELL served with the Massachusetts 33rd Infantry Regiment.  As he died 15 May 1864 in Resaca, Gordon County, Georgia, USA, chances are that he was killed there during the American Civil War, but that's just my assumption.
