      Evening Diana;

      I have the following in my file for Joseph:

      Joseph Motyer also joined the Navy and entered the submarine service. He
      was based at Devenport Naval Dockyard, Plymouth and met his wife from
      Saltash, just over the river in Cornwall. Duties included a spell on patrol
      in the Baltic. Perhaps because of the unhealthy conditions in those early
      submarines he fell ill and died of pneumonia aged only 32, having reached
      the rank of Chief Petty Officer. His grave is in St. Stephen's churchyard
      the old burial ground for the town of Saltash Cornwall.

      Additional information:

      Born: 19 March 1893, Portland
      Died: 17 May 1925, Saltash, Cornwall
      Married: Florance Dale, 22 July 1918, St Nicholas Church, Saltash
      Her DOB: 31 Dec 1893, Saltash
      Her DOD: 1 Oct 1982, Saltash

      Children: Norman b. 6 Feb 1921; d. 20 Feb 2002 - Patricia b. 2 May 1924

      This data was supplied by Norman's son Phillip.

      Hope this helps.

      Regards,
      Richard Hinde
