201 (Research):Not much info is given on the marriage certificate which seems strange, there is no mention of any parentsor occupation or anything. The minister was Joseph Hale of the Ireland Island Wesleyan Church and the witnesses were a Ralph D Wilson and an Emily D Wilson. Something about the marriage certificate does not seem quite right. (Percy's relationship to George Arthur would have been as a nephew. )  I do not know whether there were any children of this marriage or what happened but it does seem very odd. DICKINS, Percy Albert Edward (I2441)

248 (Research):She's a strange one.

Born 1697. That sounds OK, as it would put her 2 or 3 years younger than her husband.
Died 1712. That makes her about 15 years of age when she died. Not too young to have had a child, so that's OK.

But her son David RICHARDS was born in 1747, which is 35 years after she died.

Next, we you have alternate birth years for her, of 1627 and 1631.

If she is the mother of David RICHARDS, then that would make sense, as she would've been 20 or 16 when she had David RICHARDS.

But, that would've made her 70 or 66 years older than John RICHARDS.

Also, her dad George STOCKING died in 1683, so she couldn't have been born in 1697, as that's 14 years after he died.

So what I think we have here, is maybe 2 different Lydia STOCKINGS?

I have to wrap my head around this one. :-)

Email from Sue (nee Aplin) Butchers on 01 Apr 2009:

May Mary Ann Motyer returned to Southampton from Canada in Oct 1921 on the "Scandiavian" with her 10 month old son John ("Jack") Motyer.  That puts his birth either end 1920 or early 1921.  He is not listed in the England birth index for that period, so may have been born in Canada.

250 (Research):Some confusion exists as to the death of Capt. Copeland Lee COOPER - the Cooper bible indicates his death took place on 13 Jun 1849, at half past 3 o'clock PM.

Whereas the St. Anne's Anglican Church in Southampton, Bermuda, records his burial as 14 Jun 1848.

However, the Royal Gazette reported the event on 26 Jun 1949 as; "Died in Southampton Parish on Wednesday the 13th, .....".
