Pauline nee Charlebois It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Pauline Blouin, on Thursday, March 2, 2000, in serenity at the Ottawa Hospital General Campus, surrounded by her loving family. Dearly loved wife of Gabriel for 50 years. Dear mother of Peter and Dr. Lucie M. Blouin (Dr. Michael Motyer). Also loved by her grandchildren, Amanda, Stephen and Claire Motyer, and Kenneth Blouin. Dear sister of Gabrielle Charlebois. Predeceased by her brother, Robert Charlebois (Rachel). Pauline will be dearly missed by her in-laws the Blouin family of Quebec City. Friends may visit at the St. Laurent Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 1200 Ogilvie Road at Aviation Parkway, on Sunday, March 5 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Ste-Genevieve Church, 825 Canterbury Avenue, Ottawa on Monday at 12 noon. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society, The Salvation Army or to the Institute for Positive Health for Seniors Inc. will be appreciated. She lived her life to the fullest and she was an inspiration to all who knew her. We know in our hearts that somewhere she is still dancing. She was there when needed, ready to provide support and comfort.

RAYMOND-READ (Motyer), Jocelyn Kay - Born 30 March 1930 in Paget, Bermuda, departed this life August 13, 2007, in Halifax. Jocelyn was a journalist, artist, author, educator and devoted parent, who leaves behind a multitude of friends. Among them are her grieving husband, Robert Read; children, Michele (Russell MacKinnon) and Jacques (Tara Joules); sister, Jacqueline Blagrave, Rothesay, N.B.; brother, Arthur, Sackville, N.B.; numerous nieces and nephews; granddaughters, Hazel and Bee. She was predeceased by her first husband, Richard Lattin Raymond. Jocelyn came to Canada to attend university in 1946, graduating from McMaster University. She taught at the University of Toronto's Institute of Child Study, and wrote a weekly column for the Globe and Mail on "Living with Children" from 1954 to 1964. Jocelyn and Richard moved to Nova Scotia in 1964, where she was instrumental in bringing human-rights and childcare legislation to the province. She taught in the education department at Mount Saint Vincent University, as well as starting the university's Early Childhood Education program. Jocelyn served on numerous boards of directors in Halifax over the years, but she will be most remembered for her mischievous wit, infectious laughter and a deep concern for others which did not desert her even in her final days. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Atlantic Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held today at 2 p.m. in Saint Augustine's Church, 290 Purcells Cove Rd., Halifax, Father John O. Scott presiding. No flowers by request, but donations in Jocelyn's memory may be made to the Single Parent Centre in Spryfield or Bermuda Aquarium. | MOTYER, Jocelyn Kay Brunning (I892)
